SHATTA WALE, MEDIKAL AND THREE OTHERS RELEASED


The famous Ghanaian musicians Charles Nii Armah (Shatta Wale) and Samuel Frimpong (Medikal) have been granted bail after court on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Accra circuit court.

This was as a result of the dancehall artiste Shatta Wale publishing false news and causing fear and panic to the public whiles Medikal on the other hand using a weapon in a video found on social media.

Shatta Wake associates, Kojo Owusu Koranteng (Nana Dhope), Eric Venator (Gangee) and Iddriss Yusif (Deportee) have also been given bail on the grounds of instigating the publication If false news.

The dancehall artist and his affiliates Nana Dope, Deportee and Gangee have been grangrante a bail of GH¢100,000 each while Shatta Wale will manage a self-recognizance bail, his affiliates with a surety


Court recognizance bail is a bail granted to persons considered as prominent in the society such as thefs, Members of parliament and in a situation where a suspect had been charged with a minor offence and the defendant will need to sign a written promise to show up at their scheduled court appearance.

Surety on the other hand is when a person who agrees to pay the court some specified amount of money if the defendant fails to attend court.
Medikal who was remanded by a circuit court judge in Accra on October 22, 2021 when he appeared in court giving five days in prison custody an Ankaful after pleaded not guilty to the charge of exposing arms and ammunitions have been charged with an an amount of GH¢100,00 with one surety.

This happened when Justice Emmanuel Essandoh who presided in court today accepted to grant Medikal bail after his lawyer Emmanuel Yeboah Ghana iterated on the previous bail application.
The case of the two musicians has been suspendedto November 9, 2021.
